OKC Insurance Brokers is an independent insurance broker in Oklahoma City, and home and auto together is the policy pair we quote most. One application goes to every carrier we hold for personal lines. Some of them will price your house and your cars together with a multi-policy discount. Some will price one of them very well and the other badly, because Oklahoma home insurance is priced on the roof and Oklahoma auto insurance is priced on the drivers, and no single company is best at both for every household. Our job is to show you both totals, the bundle and the split, before you buy. This page explains how that works, what our clients pay, and what we need to run it.
Why buy home and auto through an independent broker
One application, many carriers
You fill in your details once. We run them through every personal lines market we hold and come back with the options, not a single company's offer.
Bundled or split, your choice
A captive agent can only sell you one company's bundle. We can put the house with the carrier that likes your roof and the cars with the carrier that likes your drivers, and you still have one office to call.
A person who answers
Call or text (405) 509-9433 and you reach the broker, not a call center. Claims, a new car, a new roof, a teen driver: the same person handles the change.
Local to the metro
Office on N MacArthur in Oklahoma City, clients across Edmond, Yukon, Mustang, Moore, Norman and statewide. We know which carriers still like an older roof in Moore and which do not.
What bundling home and auto actually does
Bundling means one carrier writes both policies. What you get for it, in plain terms:
- A multi-policy discount on both policies. The carrier sets the size and applies it to its own rate, which is the part people miss: a discount on a high home rate can still leave you above a competitor's undiscounted one.
- One renewal date and one bill. Simpler to manage, and the home and auto renew together so we re-shop both at once.
- Sometimes a single deductible. A few carriers waive the auto deductible or apply one combined deductible when the same storm damages the house and the car in the driveway. In a hail state that is worth asking about, and we do.
- An easier umbrella. A personal umbrella sits most cleanly above a home and auto that share a carrier.
When bundling is not the cheapest option in Oklahoma
Home insurance here is priced on the roof, its age and the hail record of the address, and carriers move in and out of that market every year. A company that gives you a strong auto rate may load an older roof heavily or decline it. When that happens, the cheapest total is a split: your auto with carrier A, your home with carrier B, no multi-policy discount, and still less money out the door. We see it most with older roofs and with homes carrying a low wind and hail deductible. The only way to know is to price it both ways, so we do, on every home and auto quote, and you see the two numbers before you decide.
What an Oklahoma City home policy costs and covers
The homes we insure in the Oklahoma City metro run about $2,500 to $4,500 a year. That is our own quote data, not a national average. What moves it: roof age and material, rebuild value, the wind and hail deductible you choose, claims history and the protection class of the address. Our 2026 home insurance cost guide walks through each one.
The wind and hail deductible is the decision that matters most. Most Oklahoma policies carry a separate one of 2 to 5 percent of the dwelling coverage:
| Dwelling coverage | 2% wind/hail deductible | 5% wind/hail deductible |
|---|---|---|
| $200,000 | $4,000 out of pocket | $10,000 out of pocket |
| $300,000 | $6,000 out of pocket | $15,000 out of pocket |
| $400,000 | $8,000 out of pocket | $20,000 out of pocket |
A cheaper premium with the higher deductible can cost more after one spring storm than years of the savings. We run both on every quote, and our wind and hail deductible guide explains the math. The policy itself covers the dwelling at rebuild cost, other structures, your belongings, liability if someone is hurt on the property, and additional living expenses while the house is repaired. Full detail on the home insurance page.
What we quote on the auto side
Oklahoma's legal minimum is 25/50/25: $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for injuries, $25,000 for property damage. We quote 100/300/100 as the default and show the minimum beside it, because $25,000 does not replace a newer car or cover one serious injury, and the jump in premium is small next to the jump in protection. The rest of the policy:
- Collision and comprehensive for your own car, with the deductible you choose. Comprehensive is the hail coverage on a car.
- Uninsured and underinsured motorist, which pays you when the other driver has no coverage or too little. Oklahoma has more than its share of uninsured drivers, so we recommend it on every policy.
- Medical payments, rental reimbursement and roadside as you want them.
- Teen and new drivers. Adding one is the largest premium jump most families see; our teen driver guide covers the discounts that actually move it.

Home and auto insurance in Edmond and across the OKC metro
Most of the households we insure are in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Yukon, Mustang, Moore and Norman, and we write statewide including Tulsa. Edmond homeowners ask us most about roof age rules and the deductible, and we keep an Edmond insurance page with the answers. Wherever you are in Oklahoma, the rater and the form on this page work the same way.
What we need to quote home and auto
- The address, year built, square footage and roof age, or your current home declarations page, which has all of it.
- Every driver in the household with date of birth and license number, and every vehicle by VIN or year, make and model.
- Your current auto declarations page, so we match or improve the limits rather than guess them.
- Claims in the last five years, home or auto.
- The wind and hail deductible you carry now, so we can show the alternative.
- Your renewal dates. A quote a month before renewal gives us time to move both policies on the same day.

Home and auto questions we get asked
How much can I save by bundling home and auto insurance?
It depends on the carrier and, in Oklahoma, on your roof. Most carriers give a multi-policy discount on both policies when they hold both, and for many households that is the cheapest total. For some, one carrier's auto rate plus a different carrier's home rate beats any single bundle, because home pricing here is driven by roof age and hail history. We quote it both ways and show you the two totals side by side, so the answer is your number, not a national percentage.
Do I have to put home and auto with the same company?
No. Bundling is an option, not a requirement. As an independent broker we can place your home with the carrier that prices your roof fairly and your auto with the carrier that prices your drivers fairly, and you still deal with one office for both. A captive agent can only sell you one company's bundle.
How fast can I get a home and auto quote?
Two ways. Our online rater shows real home and auto rates on screen in a few minutes with no call-back. The form on this page takes about five minutes and we come back with quotes the same business day, usually within hours. Either way, nothing is bound until you say so.
How much is home insurance in Oklahoma City?
The homes we insure in the Oklahoma City metro run about $2,500 to $4,500 a year. Roof age, the rebuild value and the wind and hail deductible you choose move it most. Those are our own quote figures, not a national average.
What wind and hail deductible should I pick?
Most Oklahoma home policies carry a separate wind and hail deductible of 2 to 5 percent of the dwelling coverage. On a $300,000 home that is $6,000 at 2 percent and $15,000 at 5 percent. The lower percentage costs more in premium and a lot less after one spring storm. We show both on every quote.
What auto liability limits do you recommend?
We quote 100/300/100 as the default: $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury, $100,000 for property damage. Oklahoma's legal minimum is 25/50/25, and $25,000 does not replace a newer car or cover one serious injury. We show the minimum beside the recommended limit so you see what the difference costs.
Which insurance companies do you quote for home and auto?
Our personal lines markets include Liberty Mutual, Safeco, Mercury, Progressive and Travelers, among others, and the mix changes as carriers change their appetite for Oklahoma roofs. One application goes to all of the ones that fit your house and your drivers.
Can I bundle renters insurance with my auto instead?
Yes. Renters and auto bundle the same way, and the online rater quotes renters alongside auto. It is usually one of the cheapest ways to add a multi-policy discount to a car policy.
Related: home insurance, car insurance, renters insurance for the auto and renters bundle, landlord insurance if one of the houses is a rental, and personal umbrella above both.
