The license bonds by trade
Oklahoma and many of its cities require a surety bond with a trade license. The standard amounts:
- Mechanical (HVAC) Contractor, $5,000
- Plumbing Contractor, $5,000
- Electrical Contractor, $5,000
- Cement / Concrete Contractor, $5,000, varies by municipality
Each trade has its own page above with the specifics; all of them are issued the same way, online with the executed bond and Power of Attorney letter emailed the same day. Your cost is a small premium, not the $5,000 bond amount.
Contract bonds for bigger jobs
When a job is bid publicly or a general contractor requires it, license bonds are not enough. We also place bid bonds, performance bonds, payment bonds, maintenance bonds and supply bonds, plus subdivision bonds for developers. These are underwritten on the job and the contractor's financials, so start a bond quote and tell us about the job.
The bond is half of what the contract asks for
Almost every contract that requires a bond also requires general liability with a certificate, and often an additional insured endorsement. We are an independent Oklahoma City brokerage, so the bond and the insurance come from one call and the certificate goes out the same day. Every bond type we write is on the Oklahoma surety bonds page.
